Tuesday, April 14, 2009"Egg" - ceptional Easter Mommy thought it would be a fantastic idea to teach me how to dye eggs for Easter! I thought it was fun!  I especially loved to squish the eggs in my hands!  On Easter, Daddy and Mommy took me to an Easter Egg hunt in our neighborhood.  But I thought the basket would just slow me down - I love to run! Striking Gold!
Grandpa Dan and Auntie Danielle came to meet me this month while we were staying in Boulder. Grandpa and I got along really well!
  He tastes great!  We also went to visit an old gold mine in Idaho Springs. I wore my hard hat!  That Grandpa is such a ham.  We panned for gold a bit, but we didn't find any nuggets!  Grandpa visited the local jail, and then we were on our way down the mountain for more swimming!  It was so much fun to meet more of my family, I can't wait to visit again soon!  Labels: Family |

My Very, Very Half-Birthday!
I recently turned 6 months old, and in celebration of my half-birthday, my mommy made little brag books for my grandparents, great grandparents, great aunts and uncles, and so on (don't worry, they are almost finished!). French it Up!
Recently, Mommy and Daddy took me on my first big adventure to make sure I got my first stamp in my passport. We went to France for Auntie Kendra's wedding. Daddy kept me entertained on the plane with a little baby einstien.
 But that wore me out!  >Once we got to France, I couldn't wait to try pain au chocolat! Oops, babies don't eat pastry!  Grandpa was there to make me laugh - I love playing with him!  I played with my cousin Theo too!  Mommy and I did a little exploring..   And Auntie Shirley and I had a few laughs...  I played in the grass...  And then it was home again for us! I loved France! We Moved to Denver!
Mommy and Daddy packed up all of our things (and mine too!) and we are living in Denver now. I heard they are buying a house for me to play in, I can't wait! I had a chance to say goodbye to my Dallas friends, like Hagen and Colby!

I Know the Alamo Nana and Grandpa came to visit and I really loved having them around. That Nana sure knows how to tickle!   We all drove to San Antonio and Austin, I was a pretty good boy during the 4 hour car ride. Mommy and Daddy kept me entertained the whole way! My 2-Month Check-Up
Well, today I had my 2-month checkup! The good news is my doctor said I am doing great and growing nicely. I am now 24 1/2 inches tall (that's over 2 feet!) which is in the 95th percentile and I weigh 12lbs 13oz (I've put on over 4 pounds since my last check-up!) which is in the 80th percentile. The bad news is that the doctor decided to stick a big old needle in my leg. I only screamed for a second--mostly because it didn't hurt that bad because my legs are so chubby. :-)

Big Weekend
I had a very busy weekend out on the town! Mommy and Daddy took me to the mall, but turned down my request for a Mrs. Field's cookie (see Play Update to the left). Bummer! On Saturday night, we had some Mexican food with Uncle Shay and Auntie Meghan. They took this cute pic of the three of us--what a good lookin' family we are!
 On Sunday, I was dying to go to the dog park, so all five of us loaded into the car. Molly didn't like being separated from me--she whined the whole time she had to play with the dogs!   That afternoon, we stopped by to meet my newest friend, Samuel, who was just born to Mommy's friend Becky. Too bad we missed getting a picture, but he was awful sleepy! OK, back to my nap now... Ever since I was born, everyone keeps telling me that I look just like my Daddy! Well, the red hair certainly doesn't hurt, but I wanted to see for myself. So when Mommy and Daddy left the house the other day, I went and found Daddy's baby book to find a photo of him from when he was a baby.
What do you think? PS -- If you are surprised that I was able to take a photo completely on my own, imagine what a hard time I had setting up the tripod!

Today is St. Patrick's Day which means two very important things. First, my name is Benjamin Patrick Butler. I'm named after my Daddy, Scott Patrick Butler. Tonight Mommy and Daddy took me to a place called "The Porch" for my first dinner out--right down the street! I was kind of a celebrity there because Mommy and Daddy had dinner there the night that Mommy went into labor. They all knew who I was because Daddy was writing down Mommy's contractions on a napkin at the table! Well, the excitement was too much for me--I slept through most of the meal.

Today I had my first visitors! My Auntie Megan came to the hospital to meet me for the first time and brought my Mommy the most beautiful flowers. They talked and talked all about me. I couldn't really understand what they were saying, but I did hear the word "cute" a lot!

I Have Arrived!
I graced the world with my presence at 9:19 am on February 6th, 2008. I was 7 lbs 12 oz and 20.5 inches long--what a whopper I was! I have finally arrived in the world and I just gotta say--it's freezing out here! And can someone please turn out the lights?
